Submissions

What is a submission? A submission is a move that manipulates a certain part of the body in such a way that it causes unbelievable pain which causes your opponent to surrender.

Arm bars: Arm bars are one of the most popular submissions in MMA they are usually pretty easy to do and can be done from almost any position. The main goal of an arm bar is to pull on one part of the arm and push on another causing hyper-extension on the elbow which causes a great deal of pain :-).

Kimuras: Kimura's are another arm lock that are usually pretty popular. The ultimate goal of a Kimura is to twist the arm either backward or foward causeing extreme pain and then a submission. This move is usually pretty dangerous because it can break limbs with out warning.

Leglocks: Leglocks is an extremely broad area of submissions and arn't usually very popular because they need to be done perfect to be painful and are usually done from ackweird postions and are annoying to set up. The main goal of a leglock is to attack any joint within the leg such as the knee or ancle and cause more hyper-extension yayyyyy:-).

Guilotine Choke: The guilotine choke is one of the most popular submissions when someones opponent is trying to shoot for a double leg. The goal is to get your opponents neck in the grove of your elbow and then grab the wrist of the arm that is chokeing and pull up if your on your back use your legs and hips for more leverage.

Rear Naked Choke/ Sleeper Hold: The rear naked choke is sometimes known as the sleeper hold and is an extremely popular move because it's easy to sink in and once it's sunk in it's extremely hard to get out of.

Triangle Choke: The triangle is an extremely good move but isn't as popular as it should be. I love the triangle choke because it's easy to do and hard to defend against. The goal of the triangle choke is to trap your opponents arm with either your arms or legs and choke your opponent useing his own shoulder and your legs or arms.
